Pedro Ortega (an antique restorer) and Angela Gómez (the owner) restored the hotel in minute detail, enhancing the massively proportioned wood and stonework with a lighter touch of antique furnishings, ceramics, traditional carpets, frescos and some unusual murals by the Polish artist Jull Dziamski. All the guest rooms are light and airy, and each is decorated in its own unique combination of colour and fabrics.
Here in La Rioja, a guest's thoughts soon turn to food and drink, and this is an ideal base from which to sample many excellent restaurants, taste the superb local wines and visit the bodegas, as well as taking in the countryside, seeing all manner of historic places and appreciating all the natural beauties that the area has to offer.
This hotel is well-suited for disabled guests. All the main rooms and four guestrooms are on the ground floor avoiding any stairs or steps, there are handrails in the bathrooms and the doors are wide enough for wheelchairs. A new addition is a small spa, providing a jacuzzi, sauna, relaxing massages and treatments using wine products (well, this is the home of Rioja!).
Restaurant:
The hotel only serves breakfast and a few bar snacks. There are a couple restaurants in the village, and more in Haro, so finding a place to eat is not difficult. Indeed, trying out various local restaurants is all part of the pleasure of a stay in Briñas.A Word From the Owner:
"Our hotel is full of little spaces and corners to delight you. We hope you will enjoy visiting us and experiencing the character of a house that has seen so much history in its 300 years."Hotel Amenities:

What We Say:
I was tempted to describe the murals as "off-the-wall", but that would be an unfortunate metaphor. They are unusual, bordering on eccentric, and help to give a light-hearted touch to a traditional country house full of antiques.Customer Feedback:
