Hotel Las Casas Del Consul is grand 17th century house situated in the centre of Ubeda, in the old town close to one of the main gateways and the Plaza del Marques.
The hotel has been cleverly renovated with modern standards of insulation and construction and old-fashioned standards of craftsmanship. The restorers objective was to make fullest use of the lovely old house at their disposal, with large windows and high ceilings bringing a light and airy feel. Wherever one looks there is solid wood, carved stone, marble and pieces of antique furniture. The result is a haven of peace in the centre of town.
Like so many old houses in Andalucia, the heart of La Casas del Consul is a colonnaded patio with galleried landings all around. This is a great place to relax, rest a while and have a drink. There is also a garden patio, an enclosed garden right up against the old city wall, where there is space to relax on the lawn or under the shade of a vine arbour. The swimming pool blends in well with hints of renaissance styling so it is much more than just a place to swim.
There are eight double bedrooms and one suite. Each room comes with a full bathroom, climate control, telephone, flat-screen television and a direct connection to the internet.
Jaen is not a province that features highly on the average tourist itinerary, and it’s all the better for that. Historic towns (Ubeda, for instance), forgotten villages and magnificent mountains vie for the attention of the visitor who is prepared to go that extra mile.

What We Say:
Las Casas del Consul is a great base for exploring this little-known part of Spain. Come back each evening and sit down in the patio with a "copita".Customer Feedback:
"The hotel is the most charming and beautiful small hotel we have ever stayed in. The enclosed interior courtyard is light, filled with lots of greenery and comfortable furniture. There are endless places to sit and talk, and the small but perfect pool in the outdoor courtyard was inviting on a hot summer day."
