The hotel El Juncal is located in an old Spanish finca originally built in the late 18th century, and much extended and changed over the intervening years. Outside it is a typical old Andalucian house, but a surprise is waiting for you on the inside: the interior décor is cool, crisp and utterly modern, giving a feeling of complete tranquillity. The conversion to a hotel was completed in 2001 so the facilities are all as modern as the style; internet access in each guestroom, for instance.

Sitting just outside the historic town of Ronda, El Juncal is a wonderful base for exploring the mountains, whether you choose to go on foot, by bicycle or by car. It's all there waiting for you: the Serranía de Ronda, various nature parks, the pueblos blancos and the spectacular bridge and gorge right in the middle of Ronda.

If you don't want to travel so far, you can enjoy a day by the pool, set in the carefully tended garden, or sample the jacuzzi, sauna or a therapeutic massage from a qualified masseuse (booked in advance).

The rooms and suites are distributed over 2 floors, some with private patios or terraces and all have large en-suite bathrooms with marble floors. The beds are comfortably-sized and the décor of each room is individual, featuring specially imported furniture by fashionable designers.

The hotel has its own bodega, where they have begun to produce their own wines. Tastings can be arranged for guests, and you can buy some bottles to take home.

Restaurant:

The La Veranda restaurant offers a la carte dining, with the option to sit outside in summer to enjoy the balmy Sevillano evenings. Dishes are traditional Andalucian with fresh ingredients, as much as possible from the estate's own gardens and farm

There is a buffet breakfast, complementary morning coffee, room service and a drinks and food service at the swimming pool.

Cancellations:

Cancellation must be received in writing (fax or e-mail) no later than 7 days before arrival. Cancellations after that time will be charged 1 night for up to 10 nights reservation and so on. Early departures are also subject to a cancellation charge.
