Three hundred years of history are concentrated in the walls of this restored 18th century masía (a typical Catalan farmhouse).
Here in the L'Hort de L'Avia they pride themselves that you will sleep just as you do at home…….but even better. They are dedicated to the concept of sleep as a crucial factor in the quality of life so this hotel not only provides all the usual comforts in their rooms, but also your own personal choice of pillow.
To make your stay memorable and utterly relaxing, the L'Hort de L'Avia has welcoming terraces, a refreshing pool, a terrace bar and a tranquil garden. The house is carefully decorated with furniture of real artistic merit, in the lounges and on the terrace as well as in the guestrooms and suites. The individuality of the rooms offers twin beds, doubles, three beds, direct access to a terrace or balcony in some rooms and all have an en-suite bathroom.
From this location in the little town of Banyeres, all the diverse pleasures of Cataluña are at your disposal: tour the vineyards of Penedés, relax on the long sandy beaches of the Costa Dorada, visit the historic sites all around, such as the Roman remains in Tarragona, experience the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the city of Barcelona or bring the whiteness to your knuckles at Port Aventura. Whatever you may see as the perfect holiday, you will be able to find it here.
Restaurant:
The "Fogón de la Abuela" restaurant serves breakfasts, lunches and dinners. It is open to non-residents. The house style is one picking up the traditional culinary heritage of the Penedes region and adapting it for a modern palate.Hover on a picture to pause the slideshow, click for bigger photos
A Word From the Owner:
"The best way to learn about L'Hort de L'Avia is to come and see it for yourself. A few days of relaxation here and you too will be a part of the 300 year history of our masía."Hotel Amenities:

Places to visit:
Banyeres: Numerous historic sites in the area, such as the citadel at Calafell, the iron-age burial ground at Can Canyis or the Iberian village site dating back to the 3rd century BC (a designated site of National Cultural Importance).
Tarragona: Founded by the Romans, Tarragona's ancient walls are an emblem of historic Mediterranean culture. The Roman ruins are a reflection of the importance of the city since time immemorial; the amphitheatre, the Roman circus, and the most beautiful sights of a city that embraces the sea.
Port Aventura: Enjoy the excitement of five different "worlds": Mediterranean, Polynesia, China, Mexico and the Wild West.
Barcelona: People write whole books about what to see in Barcelona. We only have room to say that there's far too much to do justice to in one visit.
What We Say:
People will come to L'Hort de L'Avia for all sorts of different reasons, not least the excellent value-for-money. For us, it has the wonderful benefit of being so close to the coast and beaches without being stuck amongst the crowds.Customer Feedback:
"I've just spent a few days at L'Hort de l'Avia and I can't remember the last time I visited a house like this (it feels like a house and not a hotel). There seem to be no limits to the joy of tranquillity, silence, the light and the sun, the gardens and terraces, the antique furniture, the rich yet natural food, the courteous attention……I slept like few times before! The atmosphere is special, almost magical. You get the feeling of having passed through a time warp into an age without rush or stress that would be impossible today. Although I made some trips around and about, the greater part of the time was spent around the house. Really great!!" A.
"I've just spent a couple of weeks with my partner. We loved the place and we loved the hotel. We recommend it, it's worth it (and you eat very well!)." J.
" We have recently returned from our stay at the L'Hort de L'Avia hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much, the hotel is lovely, the room was clean and comfortable and the host (Paul) could not have been more helpful." C. & S. J.
"Have just returned from a lovely week at the above, which you booked for us. 4* recommended, especially if you want to chill out, but want the coast and interesting places to visit near at hand." J.C.
