Just five minutes from the sandy beaches at Sitges, Hotel Palou is a typical "Americanos Style" house dating from the latter part of the 19th century. During the course of the conversion to a hotel, great care was taken to preserve the original features of the house, such as the colourful plaster ceiling mouldings, wrought iron balustrades and ceramic tiles. The distinctive architectural style of the house was then taken as further inspiration for the individual decoration of each of the guest rooms, six standard double rooms and four superior rooms. Three of the rooms have a hydromassage bath and one has a period bath-tub right in the room. They all have facilities like safe, minibar, hair dryer, air conditioning and so on.

There is a large swimming pool on the lawn, with lots of room for sunbathing and relaxing. Alongside there is a terrace where guests can take a coffee or aperitif at any time of day. Meanwhile, there is a large lounge downstairs where guests can also relax.

This is a great position for taking full advantage of the fabulous beaches of the Costa Dorada, as well as being very close to Barcelona, the Roman ruins at Tarragona and the Port Aventura theme park.

Restaurant:

Breakfasts are served in the hotel's breakfast room, and a cafe-bar service is available throughout the hotel. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but the nearest is only 50m away.

Tarragona. Founded by the Romans, Tarragona's ancient walls are an emblem of historic Mediterranean culture. The Roman ruins are a reflection of the importance of the city since time immemorial; the amphitheatre, the Roman circus, and the most beautiful sights of a city that embraces the sea.
Port Aventura. Enjoy the excitement of five different "worlds": Mediterranean, Polynesia, China, Mexico and the Wild West.

What We Say:

If you are looking for a relaxing stayclose to beaches but just a little way away from the hustle and bustle, this could be the place. On a totally personal note, I have a bit of a thing about motor-racing history, and I was completely entranced by the old race circuit I found near Sitges. Last used in 1955 and still complete but now quietly crumbling into the fields, it is a fascinating and eerie place.
