Hotel Puerto El Peral is built in the style of a 17th century Cortijo (an Andalucian country house) complete with a beautiful mirador tower and an enclosed garden courtyard, where you can dream away the day to the sound of the playing fountain. The aim here is to make you feel at home in a truly rural setting, enfolded in spectacular mountain scenery.

Cortijo Puerto El Peral is situated in the mountains above Málaga, surrounded by almond and olive trees. Just 10 minutes away is El Torcal, a spectacular mountain range with statue-like nodes that have formed over thousands of years. There are several walking routes ranging from easy to moderately difficult and for rock climbers the Torcal offers many interesting climbs.

All bedrooms are equipped with super-kingsize or twin beds, have comfortable sitting areas and are fitted with combined air conditioning and heating systems. The sitting and dining rooms are large and airy and feature underfloor heating (for those few winter days) as do the bathrooms (to keep your toes warm!). The dining room has a large terrace overlooking the swimming pool and the Torcal mountains. At the top of the tower is the mirador where you can gaze out at the glorious countryside or sit in contemplation with a good book. The bedrooms are spacious and all individually styled and have views over El Torcal. You will be welcomed with a basket of fruit and a bottle of wine in your room.

This location offers all sorts of holiday opportunities ranging from walking, climbing or cycling in the mountains to enjoying the beaches of the coast without the need to stay in the crowded coastal resorts. In springtime the countryside is a sea of colour and autumn has beautiful days and especially good weather for walking.

The hotel is on fairly level ground and has a lift, so it is suited to disabled guests. It also offers the benefit of the bedrooms being "no smoking".

Restaurant:

The owners of Cortijo Puerto El Peral take a pride in the cooking they serve, specialising in mainly Mediterranean fare, with many unique dishes. Breakfast is a buffet. Light lunches are available if required, salads, soups and sandwiches. In the evenings, a three course set dinner is served, with a vegetarian alternative and excellent Spanish wines.

Andalucia is renowned for its sunsets. The skies here in November can be spectacular; so much so that if someone painted them you would think it was a figment of their imagination. You'll just have to visit and verify the facts for yourself.

Cancellations:

Cancellation must be received in writing (fax or e-mail) no later than 2 weeks before arrival. Cancellations after that time, will lose the deposit. Early departures or no-shows will be charged the full amount of the booking.
