Owner Franck Thomas came to Marbella eight years ago to learn Spanish. He never left, and instead with the assistance of his uncles he founded the Hotel Posada del Angel. What was once a large village house is now a little hotel, tucked away in the old streets of Ojén, near the village square.

Just 15 minutes from lively cosmopolitan Marbella, Ojén is a classic "pueblo blanco", nestling low in the mountains where it enjoys the same climate as the Costa del Sol. La Posada Del Angel blends harmoniously into its surroundings in the typical local Mozarabe style. It has 17 double rooms equipped with modern facilities (TV, Internet, etc.) There is an African room, a Moroccan room, one in Spanish Baroque style, an Indian room, and so on. Some of the rooms also enjoy their own private terraces and views out over the village. All are filled with period furniture that Franck has bought from flea markets and antique shops around the area.

To enjoy a good breakfast on the hotel patio, bedecked with flowers amongst gently splashing fountains, is to live a dream.

Thanks to the privileged location, resting on the flank of the mountains with views to the sea, numerous outdoor activities are right there to be enjoyed : country walks along well defined pathways, exploring the unspoilt national park area on foot or on horseback, 4x4 excursions, cycling, clay pigeon shooting, tennis, golf, swimming or other watersport activities, gastronomy, cultural visits, or just plain sunbathing and relaxing.

Restaurant:

For the moment, there is no restaurant at La Posada Del Angel. Close by in the village, though, there are several restaurants offering good food and good service. The hotel restricts itself to breakfasts served on the patio or indoors in the bar or small dining room.

4x4 trips: Local specialists offer trips in their all-terrain vehicles around the pretty villages and rural tracks of the Sierra de las Nieves.

What We Say:

La Posada Del Angel is a cut above other village hotels, as you would expect from Little Hotels of Spain. The hotel doesn't have a lot of outside space, but that gives you more opportunity to wander round the village streets and sit down with the locals in the village plaza.
